It has been a busy summer for the iLivestock team, with shows across Britain, plenty of conversations with farmers and great support from our partners in the UK and overseas. From Scotland to Wales and across England, we have had the chance to meet farmers face to face, demonstrate our technology and hear more about the challenges they are dealing with every day. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand, spoke with the team or gave our Farmer Strength Challenge a go.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer was the iLivestock Farmer Strength Challenge. Farmers were invited to test their pulling power using our eWeighCell, connected to an eWeigh indicator and the iLivestock app. The system recorded exactly how many kilograms of force each person could generate. There were plenty of determined attempts, red faces and gritted teeth, but one farmer came out on top.
Congratulations to Graham Turner, known on Instagram as @chapping_n_chopping, who recorded an impressive 74kg of force. Graham won an iLivestock hoodie and software package, along with a pair of boots from Ariat Europe, our partner for the challenge.
The challenge is not over yet. We will be bringing it to more events this autumn, so there are still plenty of chances to knock Graham off the top spot.
The challenge was a bit of fun, but it also showed how the iLivestock weighing system works in practice. The eWeighCell can be used to upgrade compatible spring and dial weighing systems into digital equipment. When connected to an iLivestock indicator and the app, weights can be recorded electronically and added to each animal’s wider records. It is a simple example of what iLivestock is all about, helping farmers collect useful information without adding extra work.
Our summer show season would not have been possible without the support of the people and organisations working alongside us. We would like to thank Ariat Europe, our UK trade partners, international distribution partners, show organisers and livestock and breeding societies.
These partnerships help us demonstrate iLivestock technology to farmers across the UK, while continuing to support customers and partners in markets around the world.
