Canadian Producers Gain New Traceability Tools with iLivestock & WFS
iLivestock has partnered with Weber’s Farm Service (WFS) to help Canadian beef and sheep producers improve herd performance and meet growing traceability requirements. By combining WFS’s trusted role in supplying livestock handling equipment with iLivestock’s digital tools, the partnership aims to bring practical, on-farm solutions to producers across the country.
Through the partnership, Weber's Farm Service will put iLivestock’s full range of livestock management tools in the hands of Canadian producers. The platform supports animal-centric recording, enabling farmers to track individual weights, health, and performance while navigating national livestock identification and traceability rules without extra paperwork.
The collaboration builds on Weber’s established customer base and distributor network, giving iLivestock a strong local partner to expand in Canada’s livestock sector, one of the world’s top beef producers. With more than 10.9 million head of cattle and a growing sheep industry, demand for reliable, easy-to-use technology that provides insights at the animal level is increasing.
Under Canadian federal regulations, all cattle, sheep, and bison must be tagged with approved electronic identification (EID) tags before leaving the farm. These tags are primarily used to track individual animal movements in the event of a disease outbreak. The iLivestock platform simplifies these tasks and gives farmers the insights they need to manage their herds more effectively, animal by animal.
Ewen Wardman, CEO & Co-Founder of iLivestock, said:
“Producers everywhere want tools that are simple, reliable, and add value. Our system puts animal-level information front and centre, giving farmers the insights they need to manage each animal effectively while meeting traceability requirements.”
Jeff Wilker, Head of Sales at Weber’s Farm Service, added:
“We’re proud to partner with iLivestock to bring innovative, user-friendly livestock management tools to Canadian farmers. Their technology aligns perfectly with our mission to provide practical, high-quality solutions that help producers work smarter, not harder. Together, we’re bridging tradition with technology and supporting the future of farming.”
The partnership officially launched at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show on September 9–11, 2025. iLivestock and Weber’s Farm Service were finalists in the Innovations Program, earning runner-up positions in two categories: Livestock Equipment and Business Solutions.
