Using data to improve livestock Health

Cornwall farmer Rachael Bromage is using iLivestock across both her beef cattle and pedigree Lleyn sheep enterprise to improve flock and herd management, streamline compliance and make faster breeding decisions.

Farming 150 acres near Falmouth, Rachael runs Limousin-sired suckler cattle alongside her growing flock of Lleyn sheep, while also working locally with vets supporting medicine deliveries and TB testing.

Using iLivestock daily, Rachael says the app has transformed how she records medicines, tracks weights and monitors animal performance.

“It’s made my life a lot easier,” says Rachael. “I’m much more efficient and accurate. I don’t forget stuff.”

Regular weight recording has also helped Rachael spot health issues earlier, particularly in lambs.

“Checking my app, I could immediately see they had all lost the same amount of weight. An egg count confirmed a worm burden and, after treatment, they quickly improved.”
